Parent/StudentVUE FAQ

The main menu consists of the following options:  

• Messages: Teachers can message students
   
• Calendar: Assignment due dates are listed in the calendar section of the site.
   
• Attendance:  Attendance history is located in the attendance section.  
   
• Grade Book:  A list of current grades for each class is listed under grades.  
   
• Daily Assignments:   Daily assignments can be organized by list and day using the Daily Assignments section.  
   
• Class Notes:  If teachers have released an announcement about a specific class or assignment, these group notes will be placed under Class Notes. Class Notes are available to the entire class roster. This differentiates Class Notes from Messages because messages are personal to the individual user and are not meant for the class as a whole.  
   
• Student Info:  The Student Info tab houses the current information the school has on file for you and your family. Make sure you check here to make sure the school has the proper contact information for your parents or guardians.  Your school email address and your student ID are also listed here.
   
• Class Schedule:  The Class Schedule tab is where you can find a list of your enrolled classes for Semesters 1 and 2.   You can use the mail icon to email the teachers listed on your schedule.  
   
• School Information:  The school Information tab gives you basic information about your school, including: address, phone number, staff list, etc. 
   
• Report Card:  This section houses all of the interim and report card data for the student. The PDF files are organized by year and assessment period and can be printed.  

Parents/Guardians should contact the school where their youngest child is enrolled to request an activation key.

After receiving the activation key:

• Download the app(s)
• Select the option to activate an account
• Enter the activation information provided by the school
• Create the account using your email address and a password of your choice

You can access StudentVUE and ParentVUE a few different ways:

  NOTE: New apps were launched for the 2026–2027 school year. Be sure to select ParentVUE (New) and StudentVUE (New) apps in the App Store when downloading.

• Students can download the app to Chromebooks as well: 
  • Open a browser tab
  • Select the waffle icon 

     

  • Scroll down to the bottom of the list of available applications and select the Synergy icon to open StudentVUE 

     

The previous ParentVUE and StudentVUE apps will still appear in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, but they are not compatible with WCPS's upgraded Synergy system.

To continue accessing ParentVUE or StudentVUE on your mobile device, you will need to download the new app.

When searching for the app:

• Rainbow-colored icons are the older apps and will not work with the upgraded WCPS system.
• Solid-colored icons are the new apps and should be downloaded for continued access.

Please be sure to install the correct app before the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

If you attempt to open the old version of the ParentVUE app, you will see a message indicating that the app has been deprecated (Image 1). The message will direct you to download the new ParentVUE app, which includes "New" in the app title and is shown in Image 2.

The new ParentVUE app has the same main features you are used to, along with a few updates that make it easier to use. Grades are now displayed in easy-to-view tiles on the home screen, you can customize the menu at the bottom of the app, and you have more options to personalize your profile.

The first time you sign in, the app will give you a short tour of the new features and show you how to use the updated layout.

Students sign in using their WCPS school account.

• The username is the student's 5&3 (the portion of the student’s school email address before the @ symbol)
• The password is the school-assigned password provided to the student
• Students who do not know their password should contact their school for assistance

• Verify that you are typing your first & last name exactly as it is listed in the letter
• You may have already activated an account in the past – try resetting your password
• Contact your child’s school

If you receive more than one Activation Key letter, please contact the school where your youngest child is enrolled to report this

Please contact your school for a new ParentVue Activation Key Letter.  

• Go to: Parent/StudentVUE log-in page
• Click I’m a parent 
• Click Forgot Password
• Enter your email address and click Send Email
• Follow the steps to change your password within 20 mins
  
  NOTE: You DO NOT need an activation key after you set up your ParentVUE account the first time.  

Please contact your child’s school main office at your child’s school for assistance.

StudentVUE will send an email to the school issued email address ( _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _@wcps.k12.md.us)

ParentVUE will send an email to the email address the ParentVUE account was created with and any email address the school has on file for the parent

Accounts are locked after an excessive number of failed password attempts. Please contact the child’s school main office.

Please contact your child’s school main office at your child’s school for assistance.

• All of your children are under one ParentVUE account. You will be provided a single sign-on to view the information for all your children enrolled in a WCPS school (whether they are in elementary, middle or high school)
• Use the drop down menu in the upper right hand corner to switch between student records
• If your family includes a blended family or guardian/ custodial restrictions, parents/guardians will receive an Activation Key that authorizes ParentVUE rights only to students for whom they have educational rights

Please contact your child’s school to inform them of the issue so they can link all of your children in the student information system

• Yes, ParentVUE provides a separate log-in for each legal parent/guardian
• Upon activation, each parent establishes a separate and unique username and password. Both parents’ accounts will then be linked to the same student(s)

• Grades for class assignments during the current semester, talk with your child first
• If you still have questions, you may call your child's teacher or email him/her

NOTE: General attendance questions should be directed to the main office at your child’s school.

• Login to the ParentVUE app
   
• Select My Account at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen 
   
• Select Emails or Phones at the top right corner of the screen to update the appropriate information

• Login to ParentVUE
   
• Select the student’s name
  NOTE: You will only see the names of students within your household
   
• Select GradeBook from the menu  
   
• You will see an overview of your student’s subjects (courses) with grades
  
  Also on the GradeBook page, you can contact your student’s teacher directly, using the mail tool, for questions, comments or concerns
  
  To see more details about an individual subject (course) assignments, select the subject (course) name 

• On a PC or laptop device, open a web browser and go to the following page: https://md-washington-psv.edupoint.com/PXP2_Login.aspx
   
• Log into the ParentVUE
   
• Select I am a parent
   
• Choose Report Card along the left side menu options
   
• Select the link under the appropriate grading term to view a PDF of the student’s report card 

• On a PC or laptop device, open a web browser and go to: https://md-washington-psv.edupoint.com.  
• Log into the ParentVUE or StudentVUE portal with your credentials
• Select I am a parent
• Choose Report Card along the left side menu options
• Select from the Student Grades dropdown menu and choose the grading term you’d like to view
• Once you have chosen the grading term, an option will appear to view the report card, click this link to view the student’s report card or interim report in printable PDF format
