On February 18, 2025, the Washington County Board of Education (“Board”) approved the first reading of proposed Policy ACF, entitled “Animals in Schools.”

The Board’s Policy Committee (“Committee”) is seeking comments from the community at this time on the proposed policy.  You may submit your comments electronically or by U.S. mail on or before March 4, 2025, to the Board of Education at boe@wcps.k12.md.us or Washington County Board of Education, 10435 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.

In the event you need a hard copy of the proposed policy you may contact the Public Information Office at 301-766-2809.  The Committee anticipates submitting the proposed policy to the Board of Education at its public business meeting on March 18, 2025, for the second reading and the Board’s final review and approval.
