On January 21, 2025, the Washington County Board of Education (“Board”) approved the first reading of proposed changes to:

• Policy BEDD – “Rules of Order for Meetings (Regular Business Session)” and Exhibit BEDD-E, “Rules of Order for Meetings (Regular Session)”
• Policy DFAA – “Fund Balance”
• Policy DJ – “Purchasing Standards”
• Policy KDBA – “Procedures Governing the Response to a Subpoena or a Subpoena Duces Tecum”

The Board also approved the first reading to rescind Policy DC, “Tax and Debt Limitations.”

The Board’s Policy Committee (“Committee”) is seeking comments from the community at this time on the proposed changes to the policies, which are attached.  You may submit your comments electronically or by U.S. mail on or before February 7, 2025, to the Board of Education at boe@wcps.k12.md.us or Washington County Board of Education, ATTN: Policy Committee, 10435 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
